My First Year

This is school life as you've never seen it before: an innovative factual series that gives a unique insight into the lives of twelve year olds.

For one year, we follow a group of kids as they tackle their biggest challenge yet: joining the big boys and girls at secondary school. It's an authentic, revealing and intimate picture of the kids' lives as they negotiate their first steps towards adult life; covering everything from friendship, to falling in love, to getting into trouble and triumphing in the school football tournament.

But to really get inside their heads the series uses animation and songs to express their hopes, fears and fantasies. The result: a funny, warm, visually stunning, genre-busting series which brings to life the innermost thoughts and feelings of young people as they embark on a new stage of life.
